The Mawlid Annabawi à TLEMCEN

IN THE NAME OF GOD THE COMPASSIONATE THE MERCIFUL
*THE CELEBRATION OF THE PROPHET MOHAMED’S BIRTHDAY (PBUH)

*TLEMCEN, the Pearl of the Maghrib -The 04th of February 2012The 11th of Rabi Al Awal 1433.

As the tradition goes for each year , this time it was not the south west of Algeria such the case was with the spiritual city of Adrar for the past years an ideal place to celebrate and commemorate such rich and sublime event , but this time the Destiny has chosen for me the great City of TLEMCEN, where some fascinating moments were spent in a spiritual environment in the hospitable Sufi path of Tarika “Al Memchawiya” this year’s celebrations of the Prophet Mohamed ‘s (PBUH) Auspicious Birthday has no comparative terms it has a special taste with the snow falling all night long an auspicious sign of Mercy and Blessings from Almighty God.

It goes without saying that celebrating the Mawlid or the Blessed Prophet Mohamed’s Birthday is a permissible act as long as it is an expression of love to the Prophet provided that the celebration doesn’t involve any of the prohibited acts, my opinion is that celebrating such a religious occasion is recommended especially nowadays for youth have become forgetful of these religious occasions and their significance because they have indulged in other celebrations!!!

Generally speaking and in a very honest manner, one can only marvel at the zeal and truthful love shown during this occasion to the Beloved Prophet (PBUH) and to his Descendents from the Honourable Household “Ahl al Bait” (The Chourafas or Al Achrafs as it is commonly known in this area) by those Brave and Generous Muslims and the ever emotional and truthful way shown in this celebration has indeed shaped that major event and nowhere in this country is this truer than in this part of Algeria.
