Exhibition entitled « Earth and Clay » at the air Theater of Tlemcen

On the evening of Saturday 19th November 2011, an exhibition dedicated to earthen architecture was opened to public at the Air Theater of Tlemcen. Being a part of the event “Tlemcen, Capital of Islamic Culture 2011”, this exposure aims to introduce the richness and diversity of the world’s earthen construction Heritage to the large crowds. Artists and historians coming from: Ghana, Niger, Portugal, Burkina Faso, France, Mali, South Africa, Sweden, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Nigeria, Denmark, Oman, India, China, Mexico, etc tried to highlight the several facets of this historical world heritage.
According to Miss Yasmine Terki, commissioner of this exposure, the earthen architectures have been neglected in our country since the introduction of modern building materials, leading consequently to the loss of a millennia heritage that accompanied the human race for a very long time, making this way a basic mistake.
