This computer generated image released on July 17, 2008 shows the planned mosque in Algiers. During an official visit of German Chancellor Angela Merkel to Algeria, German architecture office KSP Engel und Zimmermann has been awarded the contract for constructing the mosque in the Bay of Algiers, including a cultural center. According to the architects, the mosque's 200 meter high minaret will be the tallest in the world. The inauguration of the mosque is scheduled for the year 2013.
