Teaching English Literature In An E.f.l Situation Sample Lesson For First Year University Students.

By way of contribution to the general debate on the teaching of English at University level I would like to offer a few reflexions on the teaching of English Literature at a first year level. Considering the fairly low linguistic competence of students entering the University and expected to embark on a literature course, this paper seeks to offer a few methodoligical remarks and suggestions on how to approach a literary text in order to develop in the learner an attitude to language use and ultimately an attitude to a "literary" text and to literature.
