On Text Type Translation: Strategies Used In English Arabic Informative And Expressive Parallel Corpora

This study aims at analysing different translation strategies used in two different text types: informative and expressive, from Arabic into English. It aims at exploring how the translator, consciously, opts for specific translation strategies to render the source text, taking into account the skopos of the translation (content, code, reader). More importantly, this study explores the relationship between text type (namely expressive and informative) and translation strategies.
