This article demonstrates how school, like all institutions has often been considered as a total institution. The pedagogue thinks that he/she is the holder of a total project. In this context and where too much importance is being given to school, two theses are opposed, not only in france,but internationally. On one hand, the intellectual trend overlooks the pedagogical engagement(we just need to know well a discipline to transmit well).On the other, a trend that considers pedagogy an absolute.
