This work is interesting by the analysis of thermogravimetric test results in the aim of assessing El-Hadjar slag reactivity. Thermogravimetric analysis is an experimental technique of macroscopic study of the material. It has for objective the characterization of materials by direct measure of the loss of mass according to the temperature and (or) of time. The tests of this analysis are made on cement pasts containing various substitution rates of slag (0%, 30%, 50% and 70%), having a specific surface of 310 m²/kg with E/C report of 0.40, hydrated during 1, 7 and 28 days
under a temperature cure of 40°C.The purpose of this work is the study of cement slag hydration evolution by using thermogravimetric tests. The chemically bound water to hydrates and portlandite are quantified in well specifiedtemperature ranges. The found results indicate that the
quantities of non-evaporable water and portlandite are inversely proportional to slag's substitution rates for all the ages. This result cannot confirm the pouzzolanicity of the used slag. The compressive strength of blended cement slag is in correlation with non evaporable water quantity at early age, but it is different at long-term.
