Barriers Of Leasing In Algeria

This research paper aims to investigate the causes that are limiting the progress and success of leasing in Algeria. This latter, considered as an innovative funding tool that operated a crucial change in the nature of relationship between the lender and the borrower, entered into force officially in Algeria in 1996. While Leasing could achieve satisfactory results, it has not been up to the expected ambitions. In order to achieve the objective of the study, we have used the structured interview method carried out with the executives of all Leasing companies in Algeria. We have concluded, that the limited success of leasing technique in Algeria is due to two main causes. The first is related to the implementation modality by leasing companies that causes it to lose its most important advantages and main characteristics, while the second cause is linked to the existence of various obstacles that affect its activity and success.
