لماذا نهتم بالتراث

عند التفكير في كيفية الحفاظ على التراث لابد من معرفة الأسباب التي تجعله بهذه الأهمية أولاً لنحرص على حمايته، وفي الواقع الأسباب التي تدفعنا لذلك كثيرة ومنها:
التراث هو جزأ لا يتجزأ من الهوية الوطنية التي تنفرد بها كل دولة أو حضارة عن الأخرى، فمن يضيع تراثه الحضاري والفكري تضيع هويته.
التراث هو السبيل لدراسة ومعرفة تاريخ الأمم السابقة، والذي يتضمن جوانب حياتهم المختلفة الاقتصادية والسياسية والاجتماعية والدينية وغيرها.
من أهم جوانب الاعتناء به أنه وسيلة لتعزيز الدخل القومي، فالسياحة تزدهر في الدول التي تزخر أرضها بالمواقع والمباني الأثرية القديمة.
ما تركه لنا الأجداد من تراث فكري وحضاري هو ما تقوم عليه معظم الاكتشافات الحديثة اليوم، فكل جيل يكمل عمل جيل الذي يسبقه، وإن ضاع هذا التراث لكانت البشرية الآن متأخرة آلاف السنين.
التراث هو الصلة التي تربط الشعوب ببعضها البعض وتقوي الروابط بينها، كونه يعزز من شعورهم بالانتماء لبعضهم البعض، فحضارتهم واحدة وثقافتهم واحدة وهويتهم واحدة.
الأماكن والمباني التاريخية والنظريات العلمية والأدبية التي تركها القدماء، هي وسائل معرفية يعتمد عليها كوسائل للتعلم ونشر العلم والثقافة بين الشعوب.
التراث هو وسلية تدفع الأمم للرغبة في التقدم، فمن يمتلك تراثاً عظيماً يسعى للحفاظ على خطى أجداده، ومن لا يمتلك تراثاً يعي أهميته ويحاول أن يصنع ما يمكن للأجيال القادمة أن تفخر به.

Why do we care about heritage?
When thinking about how to preserve heritage, it is necessary to know the reasons that make it so important first in order to ensure its protection. In fact, the reasons that motivate us to do so are many, including:
Heritage is an integral part of the national identity that is unique to each country or civilization from the other, so whoever loses his cultural and intellectual heritage loses his identity.
Heritage is the way to study and know the history of previous nations, which includes various aspects of their economic, political, social, religious and other lives.
One of the most important aspects of caring for it is that it is a way to enhance the national income. Tourism thrives in countries whose land is rich with ancient archaeological sites and buildings.
What our ancestors left us in terms of intellectual and civilized heritage is what most modern discoveries are based on today. Each generation completes the work of the generation that precedes it.
Heritage is the link that binds peoples to each other and strengthens the ties between them, as it enhances their sense of belonging to each other, as their civilization is one, their culture is one, and their identity is one.
Historical places and buildings, and scientific and literary theories left by the ancients, are knowledgeable means that are relied upon as means of learning and dissemination of science and culture among peoples.
Heritage is a tool that drives nations to desire progress. Those who possess a great heritage strive to preserve the footsteps of their ancestors, and those who do not possess a heritage are aware of its importance and try to make what future generations can be proud of.
