The French interests in Libya during 1914 and its connection with the Italians as it was documented in the French National Archives
briefly, this paper presents a group of French documents that saved in ‘’Archives and historical studies center in Tripoli’’ for a part of French policy in Libya in general and Fezzan in particular; highlighting the French interest in the Italian movements in south Libya, particularly the adjacent Algerian border on the grounds that Algeria was a French colony at that time.
The documents Included the second half of 1914, to include the period of international tensions that sparked international conflict during the Great War and the first months of its eruption to reveal to what extent French suspense over the Italian attitude towards the conflict parties and what may result of developments on the French interests in North Africa as a whole.
