The Algerian issue was presented at the United Nations in many sessions and it found every time a large Arab political backing that has influenced effectively on the international stance and also promoted the Algerian idea towards the right to self determination. This at the same time embarrassed and increased the French’s isolation which was one of the factors that compelled them to sit at the negotiating table to discuss the Algerian issue in a serious manner which led to the self determination referendum and independence.
