This study aims at determining the impact of an educational program in improving the knowledge of mental disability causes by the mothers in Ajlun. The study is restricted to an intentional sample that consists of (32) mothers having a disabled child in Ajlun who can read and write and volunteered in this research. This study applies the experimental method as one group style, a dimensional scale was implemented after composing it of (49) rows divided into three dimension columns. The educational program was applied after building it based on mental disability, its causes and prevention ways. The results show that: the amount of knowledge of the mental disability causes by the mothers is low. There aren't any differences of statistical significance (α=0.05) related to the educational level in all dimensions and in the instrument as a whole. There are differences of statistical significance (α=0.05) between the two applications of the study sample members on the mothers' knowledge of the causes of the mental disability in all dimensions and in the total degree, the differences are in favor of post-application.
