Role of Arab Translators in bridging the gap between Northern and Southern Africa :Translating Modern African Literature
No doubt, westerners, differentiated between North Africa and Africa South of the Sahara. In this paper, we aim to show the efficient role played by the Arab Translators in bridging the gap between the two sides of Africa through the translation of African Literature. Thus, translation was the best means to transfer and widespread Sub Sahara cultures : it refuted colonialists’ aim at erasing any relation between Northern and Southern Africa. This article provides an insight into African Literature and some creative African authors whose works were translated by Arab translators. In this context, we will focus on the role of the translator, especially the Algerian translator in the (inter)cultural communication .
