Béjaia was a cultural center in the Islamic Maghreb during the Middle Ages and a cultural interaction bridge. This is due to the efforts of many scientists and venerable scholars who had a vigorous scientific activity. They were delivering different lessons in various educational institutions that were spread all over the region. They also wrote works of a great scientific value which they had classified and filled the region’s libraries with. Not surprising, the scientific movement between Bejaia and Beni Hammad Castle was very active. This could clearly be noticed as scholars where moving freely. Thus, they had played a leading role in enriching the aspects of civilisation in both cities. Besides, they contributed in the construction of the cultural scene as well as the intellectual landmarks.
